Mary Czekalinski

I received my MFA in painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2009. My thesis work is an exploration of the relationship between time, memory and the transition from life to death. Examining memories and the recollection of a moment suspended in time. Through large scale abstract drawings I drew from these memories allowing them to be directly experienced by the viewer.

In addition to abstract drawings I continue to paint portraits, primarily in oil on canvas, working occasionally in watercolor and ink.

I currently live and work in Atlanta, GA
